Day 1 of the Mississippi Experience

HI! After a two hour bus ride we arrived at the Philly airport. All 26 of us boarded Flight 1239 due south to New Orleans. It was a fairly easy flight arriving earlier then expected. From the moment we stepped off the plane we could feel the humidity of the deep south. The boys were quickly covered in sweat. From there we took 2 vans to our Mississippi location. After settling in our resort-like bunk houses we ventured to Main Street to do some shopping. The boys ventured down to the beach to feel the warm water. After getting well acquainted with our surroundings we were fed dinner at the Main Street Methodist Church. We were given oatmeal cookies about the size of a compact disc. Muy delicioso! Upon returning to Lagniappe we were given a quick orientation during which we became very familiar with the term "Y'all." Following orientation we played numerous games of knock-out ( I was in the final four Dad!! -Molly but Kevin and Brian both won numerous times) As our curfew is quickly approaching we must bid you farewell.
Love all of us here in Mississippi,
Molly Feeney, Brian Knott, & Kevin Icker <333333

  7. Hello all especially Brit. What a wonderful thing yu'll are doing. You will remember this trip your entire life and the friendship established. I'm sure this isn't easy, but things that mean the most are worth working for. Maggie & Daniel are gone to Marywood for a Science fair that the students put on, so they won't be writing tonight. But look for something from them tomorrow. The weather here is hot. How about a pool without heat. Bet it sounds pretty good now. Keep up the GREAT work and know that everyone is thinking and praying for YOU and all of your friends. My love always, Marg

Hey Bessy Sue, You should fit right in with all those Southerners with a name like that! Sorry my phone went dead -- I was at Gregory's baseball game. He pitched an almost perfect inning with no runs and two balls. Anyway, we miss you and we are praying for all of you. It is amazing what you can accomplish with cooperation and a good spirit -- five houses in a week! That's impressive. You are making a positive difference in these familes' lives that will last forever. Good luck and God bless all of you. We miss you, Nenny. Dadummdadumdadum. Love, Mom, Poppa, Brendan, Danny, Gregory, Emmy, Madeline and Baby Cecelia PS Poppa says eat some gumbo!
Guess What? I copied and pasted just like Brendan taught me!
